Lahore Qalandars Receive Boost as Sikandar Raza Joins Squad for PSL 11

ISLAMABAD: Lahore Qalandars have been handed a timely boost ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 with the arrival of their experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza.

The Zimbabwean international reached Islamabad on Wednesday, accompanied by fellow countryman Maaz Khan. Their journey, however, was not straightforward, as operational flight issues delayed their departure from Harare on March 16.

Despite the disruption, both players have now safely joined their respective camps and are expected to quickly settle into preparations for the tournament.

Team Management Welcomes Key Player

Qalandars’ mentor Sameen Rana personally welcomed Raza upon arrival and expressed satisfaction at having the senior player back with the squad.

"Sikandar Raza is a pillar of the Lahore Qalandars setup," Rana stated. "I am grateful to him for making the journey from Harare under such difficult circumstances."

Rana also underlined Raza’s importance beyond just his on-field contributions. "He is a pivotal character in our team; he is the glue that holds the Qalandars family together."

Raza’s Impact and PSL Record

The 39-year-old all-rounder has been a consistent performer in the league over the years. In 34 PSL matches, he has accumulated 591 runs at a strike rate of 155.52, including three half-centuries, while also claiming 20 wickets with an economy rate of 8.08.

His return adds valuable experience and balance to the Qalandars lineup as they aim to defend their title.
