Shamsher, tapmad’s newest original series, is a tale of passion, honor, and exploration of Pakistan’s national sport, hockey. Starring Farhan Saeed, Hareem Farooq, Umer Aalam, and Behroze Sabzwari in lead roles, Shamsher is the first hockey-based web-series produced in Pakistan.

Synopsis

Shamsher, tapmad’s original web-series, is a six episode drama in which Farhan Saeed plays the lead Shamsher, a forgotten hockey legend who battles to reclaim his place in the sport he loves, while confronting corruption, self-doubt, and societal pressure. 

Supporting him is Mehak, played by Hareem Farooq, a determined woman whose emotional strength and support play a critical role in Shamsher’s journey. Their bond unfolds through sacrifice, hope, and resilience during times of adversity.

This tapmad original also sheds light on hockey being Pakistan’s national sport and its fading culture. Shamsher also digs deep into the ups and downs faced by hockey players. 

Further strengthening the storyline are Adnan Jaffar, Umer Aalam, and Behroze Sabzwari, whose roles add depth to the entire narrative.

Shamsher has received praises for its brilliant cinematography, direction, and screenplay. This one of its kind web-series has been directed by Shehrazade Sheikh, known for emotionally complex dramas such as Dil‑e‑Momin and Muqaddar, and produced by Nina Kashif, whose credits include hits like Baaghi and Humsafar.

Together, they have created a drama which is not pleasing to the eye, but has gritty realism mixed with a gripping storyline.
