'They Couldn't Do What We've Done' – Shadab Responds Strongly to Former Cricketers’ Criticism

'They Couldn't Do What We've Done' – Shadab Responds Strongly to Former Cricketers’ Criticism

Shadab Khan came up with a firm response to challenge the former cricketers’ recent criticism of the national team. He said in a press conference that the current group of players has achieved a bigger feat at an ICC event, which the former players were not able to do. Basically, Shadab was referring to Pakistan’s historic triumph over India in the 2021 T20 World Cup, in which the green shirts thrashed the men in blue by 10 wickets in Dubai.

While speaking at the press conference, Shadab Khan said that criticism from former players is not in their hands, as everyone is free to share their individual opinions. However, he believes that the current team has done a more remarkable job in ICC events, especially when they defeated India in 2021.

"Criticism is not in our hands. Former cricketers have their own opinions. They were legends, but even they could not do what we have done. We have beaten India in a World Cup," said Shadab Khan while talking at the press conference.

"There has been too much talk about one match. It was a big game, and we should have won it. We made mistakes that should not have happened. But our goal is to win the World Cup, and we are following our process," added Shadab Khan.

He then expressed confidence in Pakistan’s chances, saying the team is currently in good touch and moving on the right track to go a long way in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

"We are on the right track. We need to continue the good things we have been doing. Our batting must carry on in the same way. Sahibzada Farhan is in good form," said Shadab Khan.

"The Super Eight will be difficult. These will be high-pressure matches. Ramadan has begun, and it will be like our 12th player," concluded Shadab Khan.
