Cricket Scotland recently revealed their squad for the men’s ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tour in Nepal. During the tour, Scotland will play matches against Nepal and the United States of America (USA).
Experienced middle-order batter Richie Berrington will continue to captain the side. The squad also includes uncapped spinner Ollie Jones and sees top-order batter Michael English return to the team.
Jones impressed everyone with his performances at the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup earlier this year, while English earned a recall after doing well in recent matches.
Experienced pacer Bradley Currie has also returned to the squad after missing the Namibia tour because of illness. Meanwhile, regular players like Chris McBride and Mackenzie Jones are unavailable for this tour.
The upcoming Nepal tour will be Scotland’s second visit to the country since February 2023, when they won the trophy at the end of the previous ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series.
Scotland are currently second in the CWCL2 standings, just behind the USA. They will face both the table-toppers and hosts Nepal as they look to improve their chances of qualifying for next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup global qualifier.
