Cricket Scotland has received ICC assurances that their players will get Indian visas for the 2026 T20 World Cup in time. They have been also ensured that the team’s key pacer Safyaan Sharif, who has a Pakistani heritage, will also get India visa without any delay.
The chief executive of Cricket Scotland, Trudy Lindblade, has said that the visa issue is quite sensitive, but the board has received assurances that its players will be able to travel to India without any trouble.
"We are all committed [to] working with the ICC to make that happen. The visa piece is always slightly an unknown, and it doesn't matter whether you've got three days or whether you've got 45 days.” said chief executive of Cricket Scotland, Trudy Lindblade.
"Certainly that's been our focus in the last 48 hours: just getting those visas done so our players are all ready to go. They're all in the middle of submitting their visas and we will be there on the ground in India as quickly as we can, so it's just a matter of time now.” added Trudy Lindblade.
In a separate statement, Cricket Scotland announced the squad that will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. They said the time to pick the squad was very little, as the board received the invitation from the ICC quite late.
