Pakistan’s former skipper and wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed has been confirmed as part of the Pakistan Champions squad for the upcoming 2025 World Championship of Legends (WCL), running from 18 July to 2 August across UK venues.

The announcement, shared via the franchise’s social media, described Sarfaraz as bringing “unmatched energy” to the Legends tournament. Sarfaraz, 38, captained Pakistan to the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and is among the senior most figures in the WCL squad.

WCL Season 2 kicks off with Pakistan vs England Champions at Edgbaston on 18 July, followed by the fan‑favourite India–Pakistan clash in Birmingham on 20 July. Other matches featuring Pakistan include showdowns against South Africa and West Indies Champions before concluding league play.

  • A seasoned leader with extensive T20 experience — scoring over 800 T20I runs, plus 36 catches and 10 stumpings .

  • His presence adds strategic depth to wicketkeeping options (shared with Kamran Akmal) and the bowling-captain interface.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s selection underscores Pakistan Champions' commitment to a blend of leadership, experience, and excitement in their bid to go one better after last season’s runner-up finish. Fans can look forward to his trademark enthusiasm anchoring Pakistan’s campaign in the UK this July.
