San Francisco Unicorns Set to Feature in Global Super League 2026

San Francisco Unicorns from Major League Cricket (MLC) have been added as the fifth and final team for the upcoming Global Super League (GSL). It will be the first time a team from MLC takes part in this tournament. The third season of the GSL is set to be played in Guyana from July 23 to August 1. These dates overlap with the Hundred but come in between the MLC and CPL seasons.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars from the PSL were the last side to confirm their place. They will now compete alongside the Unicorns, Guyana Amazon Warriors (CPL), Desert Vipers (ILT20), and Perth Scorchers (BBL).

Lahore Qalandars are making a return after featuring in the first edition, which was won by Rangpur Riders. The 2025 season was claimed by Guyana Amazon Warriors, who will be the only team to play in all three editions.

Speaking about the latest development, GSL chairman Sir Clive Lloyd said that the addition of Unicorns in the tournament showcases its growing market footprint. He now expects the league to become more competitive, offering high-quality T20 action to the cricket fans around the world.

"We are delighted to have the San Francisco Unicorns join the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League. Their inclusion reflects the growing global footprint of the game and the strength of franchise cricket in the United States. We look forward to seeing them compete and contribute to what promises to be an outstanding tournament." said the GSL chairman, Sir Clive Lloyd.

Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars owner Sameen Rana also expressed his excitement for the league, saying his team is once again proud to represent Pakistan in the GSL.

"The inaugural edition was a fantastic platform for high-quality cricket and meaningful global engagement, and we are proud to once again represent Pakistan on this stage. Lahore Qalandars has always stood for pushing boundaries and this tournament allows us to showcase our talent, our culture, and our ambition to a global audience." said Lahore Qalandars owner, Sameen Rana.
