Salman Mirza Vows Legal Action Over ‘Absurd’ Allegations by a Media Reporter

Rising left-arm pacer Salman Mirza has vowed a strong response against the local news outlet that earlier accused him of misconduct during Pakistan’s recent tour to Sri Lanka for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. He has announced to take legal action against the reporter who works for a specific news organization that aired baseless allegations against him recently.

For the unversed, a report had earlier emerged claiming that Salman Mirza was accused by hotel staff of inappropriate behavior, which led them to file a formal complaint against him with the team management.

It also claimed that following a review, the team management found that Salman Mirza had violated the code of conduct, which resulted in a hefty fine for him.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took note of these misleading reports and dismissed them as blatant misinformation. The board said that it reserves the right to take action against individuals spreading this information, which is totally baseless.

Shortly after that, Salman Mirza also took to social media to dismiss all such reports, calling them absurd news that reflects cheap journalism.

"A absurd News is circulating on media and I strongly condemn this sort of Cheap Journalism. Any Media House can't air any unverified news” said Salman Mirza in a social media post.

The left-arm bowler further said that he will take legal action against the reporter who is involved in this whole drama. He also urged the government authorities to look closely into this matter, as such baseless reporting often causes harm to the reputation of players.
