Pakistan Captain Salman Ali Agha acknowledged that his side is yet to play a perfect game in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025. He admitted the fact while speaking to the media at the post-match press conference. The captain further stated that his team is moving forward with the right mindset, though Sunday’s game exposed some loopholes.
In a high-stakes Super Four clash at Dubai, India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets. They chased down the total in the 19th over when Tilak Varma smashed the winning runs. The star of the Indian batting was Abhishek Sharma, who played aggressively from the start to tame down the Pakistan attack.
“We are yet to play a perfect game, but we’re getting there. It was a great contest, though they really took the game away in the Powerplay.” said Salman Ali Agha at the post-match press conference.
The Pakistan captain also stated that his team were 10-15 runs short, as he would have liked a bit more 1st innings score on the board.
“We didn’t put enough runs on the board. At 91/2 after 10 overs, we should have pushed for 10–15 more.” said Salman Ali Agha.
He then gave credit to the Indian batters for their performance, as they made the chase look easy. The star of the Indian batting tonight was Abhishek Sharma, who scored a brisk 74 off just 39 balls.
“Credit to them — their Powerplay batting made the difference in the end. In T20 cricket, if your bowlers are going for runs, you have to make changes. It’s about finding the right man at the right time.” said Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha.
The green shirts will now play their next game against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. The Pakistan captain is now looking towards that game to make a strong comeback in the Super Four stage.
