Pakistan T20I captain, Salman Ali Agha, hailed the team performance after defeating Australia in the 2nd T20I match. He said the team delivered a perfect performance to down the dominant Aussies who looked dangerous throughout the match.
Pakistan outclassed Australia by 90 runs in the second contest, as Salman Ali Agha was named Player of the Match for playing an outstanding knock of 76 runs. He said the team performed well in all departments of the game, showcasing their preparedness for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
"It has to be a perfect game. We batted well in the Powerplay and middle and we were outstanding with the ball. Fielding was outstanding. I can easily say it was a perfect game for us and we want to replicate it tomorrow," said Salman Ali Agha at the post-match presentation ceremony.
The innings of Salman at number 3 played a major role in Pakistan’s success, as he played with confidence from the start to put pressure on the Australian bowlers. He said the idea to move up the order worked well, and he is looking forward to batting at the same number in Sri Lanka.
"That's why I promoted myself at No. 3 because I know I can play spin well and intend to do the same in Sri Lanka,” said Pakistan T20I captain, Salman Ali Agha.
Salman then praised the performance of Usman Khan, describing him as one of the best players of spin in Pakistan who can put the opposition under pressure quickly.
"We know he is a very good player of spin bowling, probably the best player in our team against spin. We knew his ability and we know it's going to come soon. Hope he plays in the same way. We want to continue to play in the same way," said Salman Ali Agha.
“I want the same from my team to forget the 2-0 and come again [play in the same fashion]. Hopefully we can come and entertain the Lahore crowd again tomorrow," concluded Salman Ali Agha.
