Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha is looking forward to performing strongly with the bat in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. He said his objective while going to bat is to just go and express himself at the crease without worrying about the results.
"I used to go with [into] batting as a captain, but now, I'm not. I'm just going as a batter, [to] just go and express myself and enjoy the game. So I think I've learnt how to put that captaincy away when I go to bat and it's certainly [changed] my technique as well. But I think mostly it's mindset." said Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha.
Speaking about Babar Azam, Salman said that he is an important player for Pakistan who provides stability to the team. He added that Babar is working hard to bring more improvisation into his game, as he fully understands the evolving requirements of the format.
"He has been working on his game, because he knows he needs to up his game. Which is good. If the batter knows and he's trying, that's all you can do. And he's a very, very key player for us in these conditions.” said Salman Ali Agha.
“Because he's someone who will give us stability, that's what his role is going to be… If he's in form and scoring runs, Pakistan will mostly win games." added Salman Ali Agha.
The captain further added that they will try to field the best Playing XI in the upcoming matches as per the given conditions. This means any player can be dropped or included to bring the best possible team to the ground.
"We'll only play who [is] the best for the team. Fakhar in the last ten years has done amazingly well, same [with] Babar, and I support them fully. But what's best for the team is what we'll play." said Salman Ali Agha
