Sahibzada Farhan Optimistic About Hundred Opportunity Despite Uncertainty

Pakistan opening batter Sahibzada Farhan is looking forward to featuring in the upcoming season of The Hundred, despite the uncertainty surrounding whether Pakistan players might be overlooked in the auction by Indian-owned franchises.

While speaking at the press conference, he said that selection in the league is not in his hands, but he still hopes to feature in the tournament by getting picked on merit.

"It's not in our hands who picks us and who doesn't. Wherever we get an opportunity and whoever is interested can pick us. We're ready to play that league, and where people aren't interested is [not something we focus on]." said Sahibzada Farhan at the pre-match press conference.

Farhan then applauded the quality of The Hundred, saying it is one of the best leagues in the world where every player wants to participate to showcase their skills.

"I am hopeful of being picked up. Everyone wants to play the best leagues. The Hundred is one of the best leagues. Let's hope for the best." said Sahibzada Farhan.

England allrounder Moeen Ali also gave his opinion on the issue, saying it should never happen in English cricket where there is no place for discrimination against any player.

"It's time for a solution, because it's not fair. It's obviously discriminating against certain types of people. It's horrible. I just find it strange that no one really talks about it too much. Especially at the top, no one really mentions it. People have not been speaking about it so they don't get in trouble.” said Moeen Ali.

"It's such a difficult one, because all these teams are everywhere in every league. So now if players speak out, or if they say anything, then it affects their career. It's a difficult position for players to be in. When you're an older player like myself, you don't really care too much." added Moeen Ali.
