SA vs Zim Live: Proteas Pace Battery Dismantles Zimbabwe in 14 Overs, Sikandar Raza’s Lone Resistance Continues

South Africa’s relentless bowling machine has left Zimbabwe’s T20 World Cup campaign in tatters, reducing them to a weary 102/5 at the 14-over mark in their final Super 8 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Choosing to bat first under the hazy Delhi sun, Zimbabwe’s top order crumbled against a Proteas side already safely through to the semi-finals. Despite the "dead rubber" status for South Africa, their pace battery showed no mercy. The collapse began early when Kwena Maphaka and Anrich Nortje removed the openers, leaving the Chevrons reeling at 28/2 within the powerplay.

The only spark of resistance is from the evergreen Sikandar Raza. The Zimbabwean captain is briefly threatening a counter-attack, smashing 56* off just 33 deliveries, including three towering sixes and 4 boundaries.

With half the side back in the hut and only the tail to follow, Zimbabwe faces an uphill battle to post a competitive total. Lungi Ngidi and other bowlers have maintained a stranglehold on the scoring rate, drying up the boundaries as the pitch begins to offer turn.

For the unbeaten Proteas, this is a clinical exhibition of dominance; for Zimbabwe, it is a grim conclusion to a tournament where they have consistently struggled to find their rhythm against elite opposition.
