Barbados Royals thrashed Trinbago Knight Riders by 7 wickets in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025. Batting first, Knight Riders scored 166 for 8 wickets, thanks to  Nicholas Pooran who played a gritty knock to put a fighting score for his team.

The batting department of Royals looked completely out of touch, as they struggled to build the momentum throughout the innings. They lost wickets at regular intervals which basically broke all the impetus they needed to put on a high score at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown.

Some notable contributions include a decent knock of Kieron Pollard who made 36 off 25 deliveries. Akeal Hossain also made a valuable contribution in the end by putting on a remarkable six-ball 23 with 1 four and 3 sixes.

In reply, Royals played cautiously and took the innings deep. They chased down the target in 19 overs while losing just 3 wickets.

The experienced opener of South Africa, Quinton de Kock, provided the base for the chase. He partnered with Kadeem Alleyne to put on a stand of 87 runs. Quinton de Kock scored 55 off 35 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. His partner, Kadeem Alleyne, also played valiantly by putting on 36 off 27 balls.

For the Riders, Usman Tariq became the pick of the bowlers. He bowled a tight spell that made things pretty difficult for Royals batters. He got a remarkable figure of 2/23 in four overs, giving Royals no extra room to play freely during the middle overs.

Usman Tariq is currently the third highest wicket taker in CPL 2025. He has grabbed 13 wickets in seven matches and has bowled with a masterful economy rate of 7.91 so far.
