Rohit Sharma Overtakes Inzamam-ul-Haq To Reach Major ODI Milestone

India's experienced batter Rohit Sharma reached another major milestone on Thursday after moving past Pakistan great Inzamam-ul-Haq on the list of the highest run-scorers in ODI cricket.

Rohit Sharma achieved the feat during the second ODI of the ongoing series against England at Sophia Gardens. He brought up the milestone after hitting Jofra Archer for a boundary on the final ball of the third over.

The boundary took Rohit Sharma's ODI tally to 11,740 runs, putting him one run ahead of Inzamam, who scored 11,739 runs in the same format.

Sharma added 26 runs to his score in the match, taking his career total to 11,757 ODI runs. The India batter has reached that figure in 287 matches, with an average of 48.58, 33 centuries and 62 half-centuries. He currently occupies seventh place in the list of the format's highest run-scorers.

Sachin Tendulkar remains the leading run-scorer in ODI history with 18,426 runs. Virat Kohli follows him in second place, while former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara completes the top three.
