Rizwan Eyes Clean Sweep as Pakistan Target ODI Series Win Over West Indies
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has expressed full confidence in his side’s ability to defeat West Indies in the upcoming ODI series, stating that the team is eyeing a 3-0 whitewash to carry momentum into the Champions Trophy preparations.
Speaking to media ahead of the first ODI, Rizwan said: “We’ve been training with high intensity… and our players are ready. Winning this series 3-0 is our goal.”
Team Form and Focus
Rizwan noted that Pakistan’s recent wins across formats, including a strong T20I showing, have boosted morale. He also highlighted the team’s balanced combination of youth and experience. “West Indies are a strong unit, but we’ve worked on our plans,” he added.
Injury Watch & Key Absences
While Pakistan are close to full strength, West Indies face a major setback with captain Rovman Powell ruled out due to a wrist injury. This could tilt the series in Pakistan’s favour, particularly with Rizwan and captain Babar Azam in solid form.
