Real Madrid Ended Vini Jr Renewal Saga With Shock Ultimatum

MADRID: Real Madrid has officially delivered a "take it or leave it" contract ultimatum to star forward Vinicius Junior, signaling a definitive end to months of stalled negotiations. The club's board has informed the Brazilian’s camp that the extension currently on the table is their final financial proposal.

There will be no subsequent rounds of negotiations or improved terms. If the 26-year-old rejects the deal, the Spanish champions are prepared to place him on the transfer list before the close of the current summer transfer window. The high-stakes standoff stems from prolonged disagreement over the winger's financial package.

While Real Madrid’s existing offer stands at €20 million net per season, Vinícius's entourage has held out for performance bonuses and overall terms totaling €30 million annually to match the upper tier of elite global contracts. Club president Florentino Perez remains highly sensitive about disrupting the squad's strict salary hierarchy and has refused to set a dangerous precedent for future renewals.

With Vinícius entering the final year of his contract, set to expire in June 2027, Madrid executives are moving aggressively to avoid a scenario where the player can negotiate a free transfer with external clubs on January 1, 2027.

The ultimatum has immediately alerted Premier League champions Arsenal, who have explored the possibility of constructing a blockbuster deal for the €140 million-rated superstar. However, if Vinícius rejects the extension and simultaneously resists a summer transfer, the club has threatened to drastically slash his playing time. Real Madrid's tactical dependence on the forward has evolved, with the board actively pursuing young Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig as a direct competitive alternative.

The Brazilian international is due back at Valdebebas to resolve his future, with the decision to commit or trigger a historic market exit resting entirely in his court.
