Rashid Khan Creates World Record with 700 T20 Wickets

Rashid Khan Creates World Record with 700 T20 Wickets

The number "700" flashed on the big screen. For a split second, the ground fell silent. Then came the roar.

During the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Rashid Khan stepped into territory no bowler had reached before. Seven hundred wickets in T20 cricket, this is massive.

A Wicket Like No Other

The moment arrived in the 15th over between Afghanistan vs UAE. UAE’s Muhammad Arfan shuffled for a reverse sweep, missed it completely, and knocked his stumps over. It was his 700th wicket. Rashid barely reacted. You could see the pride in his eyes.

That dismissal sealed Rashid Khan's 700 T20 wickets, a milestone built over 518 matches across leagues and internationals. Dwayne Bravo had set the old benchmark at 631. Rashid sailed past that mark months ago.

Numbers Back the Greatness

In T20 Internationals alone, he owns 191 wickets from 114 matches. The 200 mark is within touching distance.

This was more than a statistic in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. It was a statement. Records are meant to be broken, but this one feels different. And he is only 27, there is definitely so much more left for him.
