Rajshahi Warriors booked their place in the BPL 2026 Final after defeating Sylhet Titans in the Qualifier 2. They showcased a complete performance in both innings of the game, as Binura Fernando remained their most notable player. His four-wicket haul in the second innings disrupted the Titans batting plans, giving Rajshahi Warriors a clear edge in the contest.
Batting first, Rajshahi Warriors started cautiously to keep wickets in hand. Their openers played well in the Powerplay, however, Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed after scoring 26 runs. The innings of Tanzid Hasan was impressive, but he also went back to the pavilion after scoring 32 runs.
After the fall of openers, Kane Williamson came to the crease and batted steadily to take the innings forward. Despite losing partners at the other end, he kept playing positively by backing his core skills. The partnership between Kane Williamson and James Neesham was crucial, as it allowed Rajshahi Warriors to get back on track after the collapse of middle order.
James Neesham played a solid knock of 44 runs, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. He was looking to score further in the final overs, but Chris Woakes removed him to halt the charge of Warriors. Nevertheless, Kane Williamson stood firm at one end and played positively to lift the scoring rate. Due to his stunning 45 runs, Rajshahi Warriors managed to score 165 at the end of the first innings.
When Sylhet Titans came out to chase the target, they endured a horrible start by losing two quick wickets. The opener, Parvez Hossain Emon, then built a partnership with Sam Billings to steady things. He was looking well set to score a fifty, but an unfortunate run out ended his innings at the crease.
The middle order of Titans then showcased little resistance, as Warriors kept bowling tightly to increase the pressure. As a result, they successfully restricted Sylhet Titans to 153 and won the match by 12 runs. By winning this crucial encounter, Rajshahi Warriors have now qualified for the BPL 2026 Final which will be played on January 23 at the Mirpur Stadium.
