Ripon Mondol Stars as Rajshahi Warriors Secure Nail-Biting Win Over Sylhet Titans

Rajshahi Warriors defeated Sylhet Titans in a closely fought BPL 2026 clash at Mirpur Stadium. They won the match by successfully defending a modest target of 148 runs, courtesy of a superb bowling performance by Ripon Mondol. He picked up 4 wickets in the second innings of the match, handing Rajshahi Warriors a well-deserved victory.

The batting innings of Rajshahi Warriors started on a low note, as they lost their openers quickly. Both Sahibzada Farhan and Tanzid Hasan failed to provide momentum, because Titans bowled with tight lengths in the first few overs.

After their dismissal, the captain Najmul Hossain Shanto came to the crease and played a sensible knock. He built a solid partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim to take the team out of trouble. Due to their partnership, Rajshahi Warriors found a base that allowed them to take control of the middle phase of the innings.

The knock of Mushfiqur Rahim was especially impressive, as he scored 40 off just 30 balls in the first innings. He was looking well set to score a fifty, however, Nasum Ahmed dismissed him with a clever piece of bowling.

After his wicket, the middle order of Rajshahi Warriors didn’t put up any fight, as the team managed to score just 147 runs at the end of the first innings.

When Sylhet Titans came out to bat, their players struggled to manage the opening attack of Rajshahi Warriors. Apart from Parvez Hossain Emon, the top order of Titans failed badly as both Tawfique Khan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were removed early in the Powerplay.

After these dismissals, Emon built a steady partnership with Mominul Haque to take the innings forward. Both players batted with a positive intent, however, a fine bowling spell by Rubel and Neesham ended their resistance at the crease.

The middle order of Sylhet Titans then failed to lift the momentum, as Rajshahi Warriors kept taking wickets at regular intervals. A quick cameo by Moeen Ali in the end made the chase interesting, but Warriors eventually held their nerves to defend the target successfully. As a result, they won the match by 5 runs, securing top position on the BPL 2026 points table.
