Rajasthan Royals tightened their grip on the IPL 2026 points table after beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the latest clash. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the show, as his blazing knock of 78 runs helped the Royals seal the chase inside 18 overs.
Batting first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a strong start, as Virat Kohli played scintillating shots to open his account. However, the superstar batter went back to the pavilion in the 5th over, courtesy of some smart bowling by Ravi Bishnoi.
The captain Rajat Patidar then played a fine knock to steady the innings, however, he kept running out of partners. The middle order of the RCB disappointed badly in today’s match, as no one showcased any intent to counterattack the Royals.
Rajat Patidar eventually went back to the pavilion after scoring 63 off 40 balls, helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru to post 201 at the end of the first innings.
Coming out to chase the target, Rajasthan Royals got off to a flyer, as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played aggressively from the very first over. His continuous onslaught stunned the RCB team, as Rajat Patidar’s bowlers looked helpless against him from the start.
He built a strong partnership with Dhruv Jurel, who also looked very good in today’s match. He held the one end firmly, allowing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to play his natural game. The young Indian batter played a fabulous knock of 78 off 26 balls, hitting 8 fours and 7 sixes.
Due to his outstanding batting and Dhruv’s unbeaten 81 runs, Rajasthan Royals sealed the chase comfortably inside 18 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. They are now the most dominant team on the IPL 2026 points table, with four wins in four matches.
