Rajasthan Royals crushed Chennai Super Kings in the latest IPL clash by 8 wickets. Nandre Burger and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi remained their star players, as both gave exceptional performances to help the Royals register a commanding victory.
Batting first, Chennai Super Kings failed completely to showcase any impact, as the Royals bowlers kept them under continuous pressure. Both openers, Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad, went back to the pavilion without making any notable contributions, as Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer dominated the Powerplay.
The middle order of CSK also disappointed badly, as no batter managed to showcase resistance in front of a potent Royals attack. Both Ayush Mhatre and Matthew Short were dismissed cheaply, as Sandeep Sharma and Burger kept bowling tight lines to make batting difficult.
Sarfaraz Khan then made a little partnership with Karthik Sharma, but he also fell cheaply after scoring just 17 runs. The incoming Shivam Dube then tried to counterattack with a big six, but Jadeja got him out quickly to give the Royals a big edge in the match.
The English allrounder, Jamie Overton, then played a fine knock to help Chennai Super Kings reach a respectable total. Due to his late counterpunch, CSK managed to cross the 100-run mark, scoring 127 at the end of the first innings.
When Rajasthan Royals came out to bat, they dominated the chase from the start of the play. Both openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, played aggressively to give the Royals a fast start. The innings of the young Sooryavanshi was especially impressive, as he made quick 52 off just 17 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. This early burst completely tilted the match in favor of the Royals, as the target on the scoreboard was very low.
The middle order of Rajasthan Royals then utilized the platform set by Sooryavanshi to seal the chase. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal kept himself steady at one end, allowing other batters to play with a higher strike rate to finish the match quickly. As a result, Rajasthan Royals completed an easy win over CSK, with Nandre Burger being named Man of the Match for bowling brilliantly in the first innings.
