South African star batter Quinton de Kock took aim at the ICC over alleged bias after England managed to fly out of India on Saturday evening. He said it is unfortunate that certain teams enjoy more privileges while the necessities of the other sides are neglected at the same time.
Quinton de Kock expressed his frustration in a social media post, saying that South Africa and West Indies are still left in the ‘dark’, while England have managed to take a flight back home before them.
"Funny ICC we have heard... nothing! Meanwhile England are leaving before us somehow!? West Indies and South Africa are just in the dark! Strange how different teams have pull more than others," said Quinton de Kock in a social media post.
It should be noted that West Indies played their last match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on March 1, yet they are still stranded in Kolkata with travel uncertainties lingering. South Africa are also in the same city with West Indies, as they are waiting to get a charter flight on Sunday to return home.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan also slammed the authorities for mismanaging this whole issue. He endorsed de Kock’s opinion, saying that every team should be facilitated equally without showing any biasness.
“So England got knocked out on Thurs get a charter home today .. West Indies go out last Sunday and are still in Kolkata .. SA in the same position .. That’s where the power is all wrong .. All teams in this situation should be treated the same .. just because you are more powerful at the ICC table shouldn’t count.” said Michael Vaughan in a social media post.
For the unversed, all these travel uncertainties have emerged due to rising tensions in the Middle East. It has caused widespread flight disruptions in the Gulf region, forcing the ICC to work out different travel plans to accommodate the teams that have finished their campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
