Historic PKR 26.11 Billion PSL Broadcast Deal Signed; Walee Technologies Secures Record 4-Year Media Rights

Historic PKR 26.11 Billion PSL Broadcast Deal Signed; Walee Technologies Secures Record 4-Year Media Rights

The Pakistan Super League has entered a new financial era after sealing what officials describe as the most valuable media rights agreement in the country’s cricket history. The PSL broadcast deal with Walee Technologies, worth PKR 26.11 billion for a four-year cycle (2026–2029), signals a sharp commercial leap for the league.

Under the agreement, Walee, which also owns the Pindi franchise, will control both television and live-streaming rights in Pakistan starting next season. The consolidated rights model is expected to streamline coverage and expand digital engagement as the tournament transitions into an eight-team competition.

The headline number reflects more than just additional inventory. However, the per-match figure has also climbed significantly, underlining growing advertiser confidence and audience demand around the PSL media rights package.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer termed it a landmark moment for Pakistan cricket’s commercial landscape.

“This will be the biggest broadcast deal in the history of not only the PSL but also Pakistan cricket,” he said. “The steep rise in valuation of PSL's commercial assets reflect the remarkable growth and credibility of PSL as a world-class league. We are delighted that all past records and valuations have been surpassed in this four-year term from 2026 to 2029.

“The strategic alignment of both TV and live-streaming rights in the Pakistan region ensures that our fans can continue to enjoy the PSL experience across multiple platforms with added enhancements and innovations that will be developed and launched periodically.”

The deal follows a surge in franchise valuations earlier this year, reinforcing the PSL’s standing as a premier T20 property ahead of the upcoming season, set to begin on March 26.
