Hyderabad Kingsmen’s Saim Ayub did not let heavy rain stop him from working on his batting on Tuesday at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground. Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne shared a video capturing Saim Ayub batting practice, showing the left-handed opener focused despite the wet conditions.
The team is preparing for their third match of the season against Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. Fans will be watching closely to see if Ayub can improve his performance after a slow start to the tournament.
Ayub, who was signed by the Kingsmen for Rs126 million before the players’ draft last month, has struggled in his first two matches. He scored only 25 runs in total, with 17 against Lahore Qalandars and eight against Quetta Gladiators.
These low scores have impacted the team’s campaign, as the Hyderabad Kingsmen player form in PSL 11 has been inconsistent so far. The team lost both matches and currently sits at the bottom of the points table.
Ayub has been under scrutiny since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where he scored 70 runs in five innings at an average of 14, with a top score of 24 against the Netherlands. Following that, he was rested for Pakistan’s three-match away ODI series in Bangladesh, which the hosts won 2-1.
As the Kingsmen aim to bounce back, all eyes will be on Ayub to see if he can turn around his form and lead the team in the coming games. His determination in the nets, shown in the Saim Ayub batting practice highlights, suggests he is working hard to make an impact in the remaining matches of PSL 11.
