PSL 11 Players Draft Expected on January 30 as League Prepares for Expansion

PSL 11 Players Draft Expected on January 30 as League Prepares for Expansion

The Pakistan Super League is set to take another step towards its most ambitious season yet, with the players’ draft for PSL 11 expected to be held on January 30, according to sources close to the league’s planning.

PSL officials have already begun groundwork for the draft, aiming to finalise operational matters early as the tournament prepares for its first expanded edition. While the league has yet to confirm the venue publicly, insiders indicate the date has been pencilled in to coincide with a one-day gap during Pakistan’s T20I series against Australia, allowing maximum availability of stakeholders.

The upcoming draft carries added weight following the league’s historic expansion. Hyderabad and Sialkot will enter the competition as new franchises, taking the PSL to eight teams for the first time. Both sides were awarded ownership during a high-profile auction in Islamabad, where strong bidding reflected the league’s growing commercial value.

Sialkot was acquired by the OZ Developers, while FKS Group secured the Hyderabad franchise.

PSL season 11 will run from March 26 to May 3, 2026, and with more teams and a tighter international calendar, the January draft is crucial to watch.

An official announcement from the PSL is expected once final approvals are completed.
