Parsons, Brevis Star as Pretoria Capitals Reach SA20 Final After Defeating Sunrisers Eastern Cape

Pretoria Capitals reached the SA20 2026 Final after defeating Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the Qualifier 1. It was a thrilling contest in which the batting show by Bryce Parsons and Dewald Brevis took the game away from Sunrisers. The duo showed complete control in the second innings, guiding Pretoria Capitals to a comfortable seven-wicket victory.

In the first innings, Sunrisers Eastern Cape batted with a cautious approach. Their top order played well in the first ten overs, as Jonny Bairstow and Jordan Hermann showcased powerful batting performances. The innings of Jonny Bairstow was especially impressive as he scored a brilliant 50 off just 36 balls. Similarly, the steady knock of Jordan Hermann was also valuable, as it allowed Sunrisers to lay down a batting foundation.

Unfortunately, the dismissal of these two batters made things difficult for Sunrisers. Their middle order failed completely in front of the Capitals attack, as no batter made any notable contribution to the scoreboard. Due to that, Pretoria Capitals made a strong comeback towards the end of the innings by restricting Sunrisers Eastern Cape to just 170 runs.

Pretoria Capitals started the chase in a convincing fashion. They played attacking cricket from ball one to showcase their intent of chasing the target early. Despite losing Shai Hope, Bryce Parsons kept on playing positively to put the pressure on Sunrisers bowlers. He was well supported by Dewald Brevis, who exhibited his power game against the struggling Sunrisers attack. The duo put on a big partnership that took the game away from Sunrisers, giving the Capitals a crucial edge in the chase.

After scoring brilliant 60 runs, Bryce Parsons was dismissed by Anrich Nortje in the 18th over when Capitals were close to the target. Dewald Brevis then struck the winning runs, helping Pretoria Capitals to win the match by 7 wickets. He starred with the bat by scoring unbeaten 75 runs which included 4 fours and 7 sixes. By nailing the target inside 18.3 overs, Pretoria Capitals showcased their dominance and successfully booked their place in the final of the SA20 2026 season.
