Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran hit half-centuries to lead Trinbago Knight Riders to a 12-run win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. They have now their fifth straight victory in CPL 2025, which keeps them firmly at the top of the table.

The Knight Riders were in early trouble after losing two wickets in the fifth over and three wickets by the 11th. At 78 for 3, momentum seemed to favor the Patriots. But Pooran and Pollard led a fearsome counterattack, posting 90 runs over eight overs to reach 179 for 6. Pooran hit 52 off 38 balls, including three sixes in his first five balls, while Pollard hit 65 off 21 balls, including eight sixes, including four off a single over from Waqar Salamkheil.

Chasing 180, the Patriots got off to a strong start. Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher piled on 96 runs for the first wicket. Fletcher struck a fluent 67, while Lewis added 42, giving their side early control. But once the pair departed, the chase lost rhythm and the middle order failed to keep pace with the rising required rate. Nathan Edward claimed 3 for 30 while Mohammad Amir took 2 for 29 before limping off with an injury.

The match came down to the last over with the Patriots needing 27 runs. A six off the first ball briefly lifted hopes, but the Knight Riders’ bowlers held their nerve to close out the game and restrict the hosts to 167 for 6.

As CPL 2025 moves into its pivotal stage, Knight Riders will be looking to maintain their winning streak.
