Pink Test 2024 - PAK vs AUS 3rd Test to Spread Breast Cancer Awareness!

Pink Test 2024 - PAK vs AUS 3rd Test to Spread Breast Cancer Awareness!

The third and final Test between Australia and Pakistan will take place in Sydney on January 3. Prior to the game, both teams took pictures for the Pink Test. You must be wondering why both teams were seen wearing pink hats and why the Sydney Test will be called a Pink Test.

What is the Pink Test?

The Sydney Cricket Ground hosts the first Test of the year, which is known as the "Pink Test." Throughout the game, pink will be used to decorate the stands and signage surrounding the location, including the stumps in the center.

The Pink Test was created with the intention of raising awareness of breast cancer. The illness claimed the life of former Australia star Glenn McGrath's wife, Jane. In 2005, McGrath launched the McGrath Foundation following his wife's breast cancer diagnosis. In order to promote awareness of the issue and gather money for patients and survivors, this charity collaborates with Cricket Australia. The foundation claims on its website that the Pink Test has assisted in raising over $22 million for its programs.

What is the Pink Test record for Australia?

So far, Australia has participated in 15 Pink Tests, winning 8, drawing 6, and losing one. In the Pink Test, England was the only team to beat Australia; in 2011, the English team won by an innings and 83 runs.

The First Pink Test Ever?

A year after Jane's death, in 2009, Australia and South Africa hosted the inaugural Pink Test. The 16th edition of the Test match between Pak and Aus will take place.
