Zalmi Surge Continues As Babar Backs Unbeaten PSL 11 Run

Peshawar Zalmi is not slowing down. Six games in, five wins on the board, and suddenly the rest of the league is chasing shadows. Their latest outing, a 24-run victory over Multan Sultans, only tightened their grip at the top.

Kusal Mendis set the tone with a crisp 68. Clean strikes, smart placement, no panic. At the other end, Sufiyan Muqeem turned the screws with three wickets that broke Multan’s chase at key moments. That combination did the damage.

After the match, Babar Azam PSL performance became the talking point again. Not just his runs, but the way he’s steering this side. Calm, measured, and very clear about what he wants.

“I’m enjoying this season,” he said, almost casually. But there was intent behind it. He spoke about effort across departments, the kind that doesn’t always show up in highlights but wins matches.

Building starts, finishing strong

Babar’s approach is simple on the surface. The top order lays the base. Middle order carries it forward. Everything sounds routine and how it should be.

He stressed the importance of early momentum. Fielding restrictions, quick scoring zones, reading gaps. Yet, he didn’t ignore the tough part.

Strike rate. That’s where things get tricky.

“Sometimes it’s not easy,” he admitted. He talked about the conditions shifting, bowlers adapting and plans falling apart. That’s where partnerships step in.

If one batter slows, the other takes charge. Rotate, rebuild, then accelerate. That balance has worked so far for Peshawar Zalmi PSL 11, and it shows in their results.

There’s also a quiet acknowledgment of past slip-ups. Lessons learned, he called them. No big statements, just a reminder that this run didn’t come out of nowhere.

Conditions, he pointed out, remain unpredictable. One day it grips, next day it skids. Reading pitch conditions daily isn’t straightforward. Still, Zalmi has managed to adjust better than most.

And now, the table tells its own story.

Zalmi sit comfortably at the top. Confidence is high, but there’s no sense of overconfidence in Babar’s tone. He seems focused and believes in repetition of the basics.

Because in a long tournament, momentum can fade quickly.

For now though, everything is clicking. And as long as Babar Azam PSL performance stays steady, Zalmi look hard to stop.
