Peshawar vs Lahore Live: Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam Leave Qalandars Reeling in Powerplay

KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi have seized early control of the 19th match of PSL 2026, leaving Lahore Qalandars under immense pressure after a shaky 43/2 start in their pursuit of 174. The Zalmi pace attack made immediate inroads, removing both Qalandars openers within the first six overs to deflate the chase. 

The breakthrough came in the 2nd over when Shoriful Islam struck to dismiss Mohammad Naeem, who was caught after a sluggish start. Lahore’s struggles deepened in the sixth over as Nahid Rana, playing his first match since returning to the squad, produced a searing delivery to clean up the set Abdullah Shafique. Shafique, who had managed four boundaries in his brief 21-run stay, was left stunned as his stumps were rattled. 

Despite the early setbacks, Fakhar Zaman remains at the crease, attempting to rebuild the innings alongside the middle order. With the required run rate climbing above nine runs per over, the Qalandars face a daunting task against a disciplined Zalmi bowling lineup that has exploited the early moisture in the Karachi surface.
