PCB Clears Five Bidders as Multan Sultans Head to Auction

PCB Clears Five Bidders as Multan Sultans Head to Auction

The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed it has shortlisted five bidders for the Multan Sultans auction. They trimmed one proposal after technical scrutiny. Six groups submitted bids before the deadline. Five cleared the bar. The process, officials insist, followed a clean and documented evaluation.

This move sharpens focus on the PSL 11 franchise sale, which now heads toward its final stage. The board said the auction date and venue will be revealed soon, keeping interested parties on alert.

The Sultans’ ownership shapes the competitive and commercial tone of Pakistan Super League’s next chapter. With the league expanding its global reach, the PSL 11 franchise sale is expected to draw close attention from investors focused on long-term value.

PSL chief executive Salman Naseer welcomed the response. He believes the interest is a sign of confidence in the league’s direction. He added that once the ownership picture is settled, attention will quickly pivot to team-building matters.

Familiar Names With Fresh Stakes

Industry sources say former owner Ali Tareen is among those keen to return to the fold, adding another layer to the Multan Sultans auction storyline. His earlier exit followed differences after the last contract cycle, but the door now appears open again.

The PCB had advertised the franchise rights last month, setting January 30 as the cut-off for technical submissions. With that stage complete, the countdown to the auction has begun.

One franchise and five interested bidders. The next move will shape Multan’s future in the league.
