PCB Postpones Jersey Launch as T20 World Cup 2026 Preparations Continue

PCB Postpones Jersey Launch as T20 World Cup 2026 Preparations Continue

The Pakistan Cricket Board has pushed back the planned reveal of the national side’s kit for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, shelving a ceremony that was originally lined up around the second T20I against Australia in Lahore.

Board officials had mapped out a public jersey launch at Gaddafi Stadium, with the presentation expected shortly after the toss. That plan has now been put on hold, with sources pointing to administrative and scheduling complications behind the late change.

The delay lands at a sensitive moment, with Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 participation still under internal review. Senior-level discussions are ongoing, and a final call is expected after further consultations in the coming days. Tournament organizers have the event penciled in to start on February 7, with matches split between India and Sri Lanka under a hybrid hosting arrangement.

Pakistan is currently slotted in Group A and is due to open their campaign against the Netherlands. The group also includes India, USA, and Namibia. As per the working schedule, Pakistan’s group fixtures are assigned to Sri Lanka rather than India.

The broader backdrop has added weight to the situation. The ICC recently confirmed Scotland as Bangladesh’s replacement after the latter declined to travel to India, a move that stirred debate across cricket boards. The PCB had earlier voiced support for Bangladesh’s position, which further sharpened focus on Pakistan’s own stance.

For now, the PCB postpones jersey launch, with a revised launch window likely once clarity emerges on tournament participation and logistics.
