The 80th meeting of PCB Board of Governors was held today under the chairmanship of Mohsin Raza Naqvi, in which there were new initiatives regarding upgrading of the cricketing structure in Pakistan, especially at grassroots and domestic levels.

The gathering, which was in Lahore, was executed on long-term planning as opposed to daily activities. The board discussed a wide range of programs to be made aimed at stabilizing the foundations of the game. Among the highlights were the plans to increase participation at the women’s cricket level, the development of a better structure of competitions at home, and the improvement of High-Performance Centers in the country at a large level.

Depreciating the vices of corruption in the present-day cricket, PCB implemented procedural changes that were coherent with the universal code on anti-corruption. This is a new dedication to work in integrity and transparency. Besides, new club licensing and examination criteria were accepted to better manage grassroots areas of governance.

Financial control, to was also brought into the spotlight. The board approved revised financial regulations for the PCB and ratification of appointment of auditors to audit its books and accounts during the current financial year. Decisions that had been deferred at the last two BoG meetings were also ratified.

The meeting was attended by various PCB stakeholders, amongst them BoG members such as Anwar Ghani, Zaheer Abbas, Sajjad Ali Khokhar and Tanveer Ahmed. The presence of the PCB officials was also seen through the high-ranking PCB officials, which was composed of the COO, PSL CEO, directors in the Cricket department, International Cricket department, Domestic Cricket department, and Human Resources department.
