Shan Masood to Lead as PCB Announces Squad with Four Uncapped Players for Bangladesh Tests

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-player squad for the upcoming Bangladesh Test series, with Shan Masood set to lead the side in the two-match contest next month. The fixtures are part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.

Pakistan will begin the series in Dhaka, where the opening Test will be played from May 8 to 12 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The second match is scheduled in Sylhet from May 16 to 20.

New faces included in squad

The selectors have included four uncapped players in the squad, offering opportunities to Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori at the Test level. Several members of the squad are already involved in preparations through the ongoing red-ball training camp in Lahore.

Among those currently in camp are Azan Awais, Imam-ul-Haq, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, as the team builds towards the Bangladesh tour.

Preparation Plans and Travel Schedule

The squad will regroup in Karachi on April 27 for a short training camp ahead of departure. The camp will run for five days before the team flies out to Bangladesh on May 2.

Players currently involved in the Pakistan Super League will join the squad once their commitments are completed. Those featuring in the final will travel directly to Bangladesh.
