The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an extensive 27-day Skills & Fitness Camp for the national women's cricket team, set to begin 2 February at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre, Multan. This initiative aims to strengthen the squad ahead of next year’s major tournaments, including the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2025.

A total of 31 players, featuring all 16 centrally contracted women, were invited to the nationally significant training program. The women's national selection committee is managing the camp, with oversight from head coach Mohammad Wasim, the former Test cricketer appointed in July 2024.

Over February, players will engage in daily fitness sessions, skill drills, and seven 50-over practice matches—designed to simulate match scenarios and assess players’ readiness. These matches, along with net sessions, are crucial for identifying the core squad for the ICC Qualifiers scheduled later this year.

  2. Fitness standards: Tailored programs including medical screenings and conditioning drills to raise stamina and reduce injury risks.

  3. Match-readiness: The seven 50‑over practice games will test player applications of skills under real-match pressure—crucial ahead of the Qualifiers.

  4. Holistic development: With Mohammad Wasim at the helm, the camp reinforces a high-performance culture for Pakistan Women leading into 2026.

What's next?

  • The ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2025 will bring top teams from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas—only two slots for the final eight-team World Cup.

  • Exceptional performers in this camp are expected to secure spots in both the Qualifiers and the main World Cup squad.

  • Further camps and training blocks are anticipated through mid-2025 to ensure squad continuity and ongoing skill enhancement.

PCB’s 27-day camp in Multan marks a massive investment in Pakistan women’s cricket, targeting fitness, technique, and mental resilience ahead of crucial global qualifiers. With a talented squad and structured preparation, Pakistan looks to elevate its performance and stake a claim among the top teams in women’s cricket.
