PCB Announces PKR 5M Reward for Pakistan U19 Asia Cup 2025 Heroes

The celebration inside the dressing room did not stop with the trophy. The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, announced cash rewards for the Pakistan Under-19 team after their dominant run in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup. Each member of the winning squad will receive PKR 5 million, a gesture aimed at recognising both performance and promise.

The announcement came during a meeting with players shortly after the final. Pakistan’s U19 side did not just win the tournament; they controlled it and sidelined India U19. The final against India turned into a one-sided affair, built on discipline with the bat and sharp work with the ball.

Setting 347 in a final match takes intent, and Pakistan youngsters showed it. India was bundled out for 156, never finding momentum. Ali Raza’s four-wicket spell set the tone, while support came steadily from Huzaifa Ahsan, Abdul Subhan, and Mohammad Sayyam.

Naqvi, addressing the players, called them warriors, and the word fit as all of them showed flashy cricket. 

Sameer Minhas Earns Special Mention

Naqvi singled out Sameer for delivering when the pressure peaked. His knock in the final shaped the contest early and denied India any opening. The chairman told Minhas he had made the country proud, words that carried weight inside the room.

Later, Naqvi echoed the sentiment on social media, applauding the team’s fearless approach and Minhas’ calm presence on the big stage.
