St Kitts and Nevis Patriots kept their CPL 2025 playoffs hopes alive. Mohammad Rizwan and Naseem Shah did a wonderful job with bat and ball respectively. Rizwan scored 85 off 62 balls when it was needed.

The Patriots looked in trouble when Amazon Warriors needed 11 runs from the final over with three wickets left. Naseem Shah removed Keemo Paul on the first ball and then restricted the scoring with a mix of yorkers and slower deliveries. He gave away only five runs in the last over, sealing a dramatic win and ending the Patriots’ three-match losing streak.

However, the work is still incomplete. The Patriots now need to defeat Barbados Royals in their last league match and depend on favorable outcomes from other matches.

Their innings had started badly. Andre Fletcher, Kyle Mayers, and Leniko Boucher all fell for low scores, leaving them struggling at 26 for 3 inside five overs. Mohammad Rizwan rebuilt with Rilee Rossouw and later accelerated, hitting eight fours and three sixes. His effort lifted the side to 149 for 6, with 45 runs coming in the last four overs.

Amazon Warriors began well at 41 for 1 in the powerplay but stumbled after losing Shai Hope and Hassan Khan in quick succession. By the halfway stage they were 67 for 3, and although Romario Shepherd and Paul tried to revive the chase, regular strikes kept the Patriots ahead. Shepherd hit Waqar Salamkheil for a six and Paul briefly threatened, but Jason Holder removed Shepherd late on and Naseem finished the job.

The Patriots live to fight another day, while the Warriors must regroup quickly after letting a winnable match slip away in their recent CPL match.
