Pakistan Women cricket team made full use of batting first after Zimbabwe Women cricket team opted to field at the National Stadium Karachi. The opening pair laid a solid platform, with Sadaf Shamas and Gull Feroza stitching together a commanding partnership that gave Pakistan early control of the innings in this Pakistan W vs Zimbabwe W ODI.
The duo built momentum steadily, guiding the team past 100 without losing a wicket and frustrating the Zimbabwe bowlers with disciplined stroke play.
Sadaf Shamas anchored the innings with a brilliant 98 off 130 balls, striking 17 boundaries and narrowly missing out on a century. Alongside her, Gull Feroza contributed a valuable 50 off 60 deliveries, ensuring Pakistan maintained a healthy scoring rate.
Their opening stand of 162 runs laid the foundation for a big total before Zimbabwe found a breakthrough.
After the first wicket, Sidra Amin continued the attacking approach. She scored an impressive 67 off 59 balls, hitting nine fours and keeping the scoreboard moving. However, Pakistan faced a brief slowdown as quick wickets of Ayesha Zafar and Aliya Riaz gave Zimbabwe a chance to pull things back.
Despite this phase, Pakistan remained in a strong position heading into the final overs.
The momentum shifted again in the closing stages thanks to a powerful finish from Najiha Alvi and captain Fatima Sana. Alvi remained unbeaten on 56 off just 30 balls, smashing eight fours and a six to accelerate the scoring.
Fatima Sana added a quickfire 11 off 3 balls, including a boundary and a six, pushing Pakistan to a commanding Pakistan Women 330 score of 330/5 in 50 overs.
Among the bowlers, Precious Marange stood out with three wickets, conceding just 39 runs in her 10 overs. Nomvelo Sibanda and Kudzai Chigora picked up one wicket each, but Zimbabwe struggled to contain runs, conceding 43 extras which further boosted Pakistan’s total.
Chasing 331 demands near-perfect execution from Zimbabwe. The Karachi pitch is good for batting, but scoreboard pressure will be intense. Pakistan’s bowlers will attack early for quick breakthroughs.
Zimbabwe must rely on their top order to build partnerships. With momentum on their side, Pakistan remain clear favorites. Tight bowling could seal a dominant win.
