Whites Put Up Impressive Score Against Greens in Champions Cup Opener
Pakistan Whites got their National Champions Cup 2026 campaign off to a solid start as they posted 276/8 against Pakistan Greens at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
After winning the toss, Whites captain Saim Ayub chose to bat first. His decision paid off as his team put together a competitive score in their 50 overs.
Shahzaib Khan was the main contributor with the bat, scoring 76 from 88 balls. The left-hander played a key role in rebuilding the innings after Ayub and Mohsin Riaz were dismissed early. Ayub scored 14, while Riaz could manage only one.
Shahzaib found good support from wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan, who added 34 runs. Later, half-centuries from Hasan Nawaz and Khushdil Shah gave the Whites' total another boost and helped them finish with a strong score.
After Khan was dismissed, Hasan Nawaz and Khushdil Shah took charge and kept the Whites moving towards a big score. Both batters hit half-centuries and put on a useful partnership in the middle overs. Hasan scored 56 from 61 balls, while Khushdil played an attacking knock of 51 off 44 deliveries.
For the Greens, Naseem Shah was the pick of the bowlers, as he picked up 3/46 in his nine overs. Apart from him, Faheem Ashraf took two wickets, while Salman Mirza and Mehran Mumtaz picked up one each.
