Abdullah's Unbeaten Century Powers Pakistan to 387 Against West Indies in First Innings

Abdullah Shafique scored an unbeaten 160 to help Pakistan take a valuable 43-run first-innings lead over West Indies on the third day of the second Test at Port of Spain.

Pakistan came out to bat after the lunch break on 333/6, with Shafique and Sajid Khan still at the crease. The pair added 54 more runs before the innings came to an end at 387, with the visitors losing their last four wickets without showing much resistance.

Shafique and Sajid looked comfortable after the break and continued to score freely, frustrating the West Indies bowlers. Their seventh-wicket partnership reached 59 runs before Jayden Seales finally broke the stand by having Sajid caught behind.

After Sajid's dismissal, Shafique added another 17 runs for the eighth wicket with Ali Usman, who scored 10 off 21 balls.

Warrican then wrapped up Pakistan's innings by taking two more wickets in the same over. He bowled Ubaid Shah and Mohammad Ali for ducks, while Shafique remained unbeaten on 160 from 323 balls.

Warrican was the standout bowler for West Indies, finishing with 6/112 from 46 overs. Apart from him, Shamar Joseph claimed two wickets, while Jayden Seales picked up one.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan lost momentum after a short middle-order collapse. They lost three wickets in quick succession following the dismissal of captain Babar Azam.

Babar's innings came to an unfortunate end after a mix-up with Shafique while running between the wickets. Brandon King hit the stumps with a direct throw in the ninth over of the morning, catching Babar short of his ground. The Pakistan captain was run out for 88 off 147 balls, an innings that included 10 fours and one six.

After Babar's dismissal, Pakistan's middle order failed to offer much resistance, leaving Abdullah Shafique to carry the innings. Due to that, the visitors were finally bowled out on 387, with Shafique standing out as their top performer.
