The Pakistan team management has officially filed a complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the controversial decision of Fakhar Zaman’s dismissal in the India game. The decision quickly became the talking point of social media when the footage clearly showed how the ball touched the ground. This controversial take didn’t go well with the fans, as well as the Pakistan team. They have now forwarded the matter to the ICC to make a quick investigative decision.

As per the sources, Pakistan’s team manager, Naveed Akram Cheema first approached the match referee to lodge the complaint. He was then told that the matter didn’t fall into the jurisdiction of the match referee, and it should be forwarded to the umpires’ manager.

The controversial incident happened at the start of the play, when Fakhar edged an off-cutter by Hardik Pandya. Due to the slow pace, the ball didn’t carry properly to the keeper. It looked not out from the naked eye, as Samson had to dive in front of him to take the catch.

The on-field umpire didn’t have a clear look at the catch, so he referred the decision back to the third umpire. Fakhar Zaman stood with confidence in the middle, as he knew that the ball didn’t carry properly to the keeper.

However, the final decision that was given by the third umpire, stunned the batter. He was given out, although the multiple replays on the screen displayed how the ball first touched the ground.

This decision didn’t sit well with Fakhar Zaman, as well as Pakistan team management. The batter looked visibly confused while going back to the dugout. Since then, different types of debates have started on social media, as netizens have called out the hypocrisy shown by the umpires.

In the post-match press conference, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha also voiced his concerns about the decision.

“I don’t know about the decision. As far as I am concerned, it looked like the ball bounced before being collected. Obviously, it’s the umpire’s job and they can make mistakes—I have no problem with that. But to me, it did look like it bounced," said Salman Ali Agha.

Pakistan will now play their next Super Four match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, where they will try to bounce back quickly from the India defeat. It would be a good contest to watch, as both sides have got plenty of resources to win the match.
