Pakistan Cricket Team Shares Special Moment With King Charles at Clarence House

The Pakistan men’s cricket team had a special meeting with King Charles in London, with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and members of the coaching and support staff also attending the occasion at Clarence House.

Babar Azam led the group of Pakistan players at the royal residence. Shan Masood, Mohammad Abbas, Abdullah Shafique, Azan Awais, Sajid Khan and Mohammad Ali were among the players present. White-ball head coach Mike Hesson and Director High-Performance Centre Aaqib Javed also joined the team.

King Charles took time to speak with the Pakistan players and offered words of encouragement ahead of the final Test against England. Pakistan are 2-0 down in the three-match series, with the last game set to take place at Edgbaston in Birmingham from September 9 to 13.

The meeting also saw Babar Azam hand over a special gift to the monarch on behalf of the Pakistan team. The Pakistan captain presented King Charles with a signed cricket bat, photos of which have now gone viral on social media. The British High Commissioner was also in attendance during the meeting.

After meeting King Charles, PCB Chairman Naqvi spoke to the media and called the discussion very productive. Naqvi has now departed from the UK and is making his way back to Pakistan.

It should be noted that the upcoming match against England is a tough test for the green shirts, who are currently reeling with two back-to-back defeats in the series. The PCB’s latest changes, including the removal of the head coach and bowling coach, have further raised the pressure, making the upcoming contest a crucial game for the team.
