In an unprecedented turn of events, the India Champions have officially withdrawn from their scheduled semi-final against Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL 2025). As a result, Pakistan have advanced directly to the final without playing the match. This comes after India had earlier refused to play Pakistan in a league encounter during the tournament, citing concerns stemming from the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Pakistan topped the group stage with nine points from five matches, having defeated all opponents including West Indies and England Champions, securing their knockout berth on net run rate. Meanwhile, India finished fourth amid growing controversy over participation.

What It Means

  • Pakistan advance to the WCL final, scheduled for 2 August, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between South Africa Champions and Australia Champions.

  • The cancellation marks the second match involving India and Pakistan to be called off during this tournament due to non-sporting reasons.

  • Event organisers stated the decision reflects respect for "public sentiment" and reiterated that Pakistan remained prepared to compete.
