Ashley Noffke Resigns as Pakistan Bowling Coach After 16 Months in Role

Ashley Noffke resigned as Pakistan’s white-ball bowling coach after around 16 months in the role, with the former Australia international set to remain with the team for the 2026 Asian Games. He informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of his decision as he considers his next coaching opportunity.

Noffke will continue working with Pakistan for the Asian Games, where the men’s team is scheduled to begin its campaign in the quarter-finals on September 28. He has also held talks over a potential coaching position with an associate nation.

The PCB has already started the process of appointing Noffke’s successor and has opened applications for the bowling coach position. Candidates must have Level 3 cricket coaching accreditation and a minimum of five years of coaching experience, with October 8 set as the application deadline.

Noffke's Time with Pakistan

Noffke became part of Pakistan’s coaching staff in May 2025 under white-ball head coach Mike Hesson. He initially worked specifically with the limited-overs side before taking on an additional role during the Test tour of England in September 2026.

The change followed Pakistan’s losses in the first two Tests at Headingley and Lord’s. Noffke replaced Umar Gul as bowling coach for the remainder of the series, but Pakistan suffered another defeat in the third Test, losing by eight wickets to complete a 3-0 series whitewash.

The Pakistan bowling coach resigns after a period in which Noffke was involved across both white-ball and Test cricket. His departure now leaves the PCB with the task of filling the specialist coaching position ahead of Pakistan’s upcoming international commitments.

Ashley Noffke played one ODI and two T20Is for Australia before moving into coaching. His replacement will be appointed through the PCB’s ongoing recruitment process.
