Pak vs Aus Live: Pakistan Bowl Out Australia for 157 as Shaheen Leads Dominant Display
Australia's innings got off to the worst possible start when Matthew Short was dismissed for a duck on just the second ball of the match. Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi struck immediately, with Sahibzada Farhan taking the catch to give the hosts an early breakthrough.
Despite the setback, Josh Inglis and Marnus Labuschagne steadied the innings. The pair guided Australia through the remainder of the powerplay and rebuilt cautiously. However, Labuschagne's stay ended on 19 after a sharp run out involving Haris Rauf and Arafat Minhas left Australia at 46/2.
Inglis continued to anchor the innings and found support from Alex Carey. Their partnership helped Australia recover and cross the 100-run mark. Inglis brought up his fifty from 56 deliveries and looked set for a bigger score as he mixed caution with positive stroke play.
Pakistan, however, regained control through Haris Rauf, who removed Carey for 19. The breakthrough triggered a collapse that Australia never fully recovered from.
Shaheen then returned to dismiss the well-set Inglis for 65, ending Australia's most important innings of the day. Cameron Green followed shortly afterward, while Abrar Ahmed struck twice to remove Matt Renshaw and Cooper Connolly as Pakistan tightened their grip on the contest.
Oliver Peake attempted to add valuable runs in the lower middle order but became Shadab Khan's first victim. The leg-spinner then removed Adam Zampa later in the innings as Australia's resistance faded.
The lower order struggled to build meaningful partnerships against Pakistan's disciplined bowling attack. Matthew Kuhnemann remained unbeaten on 9, but wickets continued to tumble around him. Nathan Ellis was eventually run out on the final ball of the innings, bringing Australia's total to 157 in 42 overs.
Shaheen Shah Afridi led the bowling effort with outstanding figures of 3/30, setting the tone with an early strike and later removing two key middle-order batters. Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan claimed two wickets each, while Haris Rauf added one wicket and maintained pressure throughout his spell.
Australia managed 41 runs in the first powerplay but lost seven wickets during the middle overs, a period that ultimately decided the innings. By the time the final wicket fell, Pakistan had firmly established themselves as favorites heading into the chase.
With a target of 158 now on the board, Pakistan will be confident of completing the job and securing victory in the decisive third ODI.
