Sharjah- Pakistan played quite a performance to win by a margin of 39 runs in the first match of the Tri-Nation T2OI series over Afghanistan. It was a strong message from the victory before the T20 Asia Cup 2025.

Solid Batting Effort

A score of 182 in 7 gave Pakistan a competitive target on the board, and Salman Ali Agha led the way with a calm and effective half-century. His restraint in innings stabilized the ship when Pakistan was once slowed down by the loss of early wickets.

Bowling Firepower Seals the Win

On the actual day to bowl, Pakistan came up to the occasion in its attack. Haris Rauf and Sufiyan Muqeem provided breakthroughs that were timely and hit at the right time and place to ensure the pursuit in Afghanistan remained squarely on track. The innings of Afghanistan were always being played behind, and they had too much to catch up with the accelerating run rate.

Momentum and Importance

This victory provides Pakistan with premature confidence and momentum in the build-up to the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, it will be Afghanistan who will have to regroup and rebuild to take part in future matches, as they will have their first T20I since December 2024.

In a tense rivalry, Pakistan performed well as a team with all-around performance, batting, and quick bowling, making the difference in this match. It was not merely a victory but a wake-up call that Pakistan are serious, ready, and willing to fight even greater battles in the future.
