Pak vs WI Select XI Warm-Up Match Ended in a Draw

TAROUBA: Pakistan wrapped up their preparations for the upcoming Test series with encouraging performances from both bat and ball as the Pak vs WI Select XI four-day fixture finished without a result at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Tuesday. 

Centuries from captain Babar and Azan, along with a five-wicket spell from fast bowler Mohammad Ali, ensured Pakistan dominated large parts of the contest before the Pak vs WI warm-up match ended in a draw.

Pakistan's batting unit laid the foundation by posting a commanding first-innings total after several top-order players spent valuable time at the crease. Babar and Azan both retired after completing well-crafted hundreds, while Shan Masood and Abdullah Fazal added half-centuries to strengthen the innings. 

Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan also made useful contributions before the innings was declared.

Mohammad Ali Leads Disciplined Bowling Effort

After building a substantial total, Pakistan's bowlers quickly took control. Mohammad Ali produced the standout performance with figures of 5 for 37, while Ali Usman and Aamer Jamal claimed two wickets each to restrict the WI Select XI.

The hosts found resistance through Kavem Hodge, whose 92 was the highest score of the innings. Tagenarine Chanderpaul added a patient half-century at the top, while Jyd Goolie remained unbeaten to help reduce the deficit before the innings ended.

Pakistan Continue Batting dominance

Holding a first-innings advantage, Pakistan chose to bat again and continued to build confidence ahead of the Test series. Awais Zafar converted his opportunity into an unbeaten 128, combining controlled stroke play with aggressive hitting. Abdullah Fazal and Ali Usman also made useful scores as Pakistan extended their overall lead before both teams agreed to end the match in a draw.

The warm-up match also offered valuable overs to the West Indies bowlers, with Jomel Warrican taking two wickets in the second innings. Anderson Phillip and Ojay Shields picked up one wicket each, but Pakistan finished the match firmly in control after four productive days in Tarouba.
