Kusal Mendis Wins Toss and Opts to Bowl in PAK vs SL 2nd T20I

Kusal Mendis Wins Toss and Opts to Bowl in PAK vs SL 2nd T20I

RAWALPINDI: Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis won the PAK vs SL 2nd T20I toss and elected to bowl first at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Facing a must-win situation to keep the three-match series alive, the visitors have banked on early bowling conditions to put the hosts under pressure.

Following a thrilling opening fixture where Pakistan successfully chased down a target of 183 to secure a 1-0 lead, the pressure is squarely on Sri Lanka to bounce back. By winning the toss in PAK vs SL 2nd T20I, Mendis opted for tactical chase conditions, hoping his bowling attack can extract early movement from the Rawalpindi track before dew becomes a factor later in the evening.

Pakistan, led by skipper Sahibzada Farhan, expressed confidence despite being asked to set a total. The hosts have retained a balanced, aggressive batting lineup, eager to exploit the true bounce of the surface and post a commanding target.

With a strong power-hitting unit at their disposal, the Men in Green aim to stitch together impactful partnerships during the powerplay to dictate the tempo of the game.

For Sri Lanka, the strategy centers on disciplined powerplay bowling and executing variations in the death overs to restrict Pakistan's dangerous hitters. The tactical decision at the toss sets up an intriguing battle between Pakistan’s dynamic batting depth and Sri Lanka’s revamped bowling strategy.
