Pooran credited the belief of his team as the sole reason behind the CPL title glory. He showered praise for everyone who was associated with the TKR team this season. The title glory means a lot for the Riders captain, as he waited for this moment for quite some time. At the press conference, he had no words to describe his feeling, as Riders won their first CPL title in the last five years.

The final match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors lived up to its hype. It was a game between two giants having a similar type of firepower and bowling resources. That was the key reason why the contest became highly thrilling, and eventually, Riders came out as the title winners.

"Nah [not tactics]. It's just belief. Team belief. I've waited 15 years for this moment. This feeling, there's no words to describe it. But before we talk about anything else, I just want to say thank you to all my guys here, every single person in the TKR team, all the squad members, every single one of our fans. Thank you for the love and support." said Nicholas Pooran after the match.

Batting first at Providence, Guyana Amazon Warriors had a very rough start. They lost their in-form batter, Quentin Sampson in the first over, courtesy of some fine bowling by Andre Russell. This wicket gave Warriors a huge jolt early in the innings, because Sampson played well for them throughout the whole season.

The other opener, Ben McDermott, however, tried to build some tempo in the Powerplay by playing aggressively. The Australian batter made a quick 28 runs by hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Due to tight bowling by Riders, he also got out just at the end of the Powerplay when the score was 41.

After that, Warriors never looked comfortable in the batting. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals, which increased pressure on them. From Shai Hope to Shimron Hetmyer, none of their middle-order batters contributed much to the scoreboard. As a result, their scoring rate never jumped up, making things difficult for them in the middle.

However, due to some late push provided by Iftikhar Ahmed and Dwaine Pretorius, Guyana Amazon Warriors managed to put 130 on the scoreboard. It really looked like an easy chase for the Riders, but things became tricky in the second innings.

Riders started the innings strongly, as Colin Munro gave them a rapid start. However, he fell in the 5th over, and then Riders started to stutter. Their innings never looked in control, as Pooran and Bravo got out cheaply.

However, the late order push provided by Pollard and Akeal Hosein allowed TKR to come back into the game. They eventually won the match, and lifted the CPL trophy for the first time in five years. Nicholas Pooran credited this win to the all-round performance of his team, especially how it marched from the eliminators to win the title.
